HELENE CONSOLIDATED HIGH SCHOOL 1929 BOYS BASKETBALL TEAM
Mrs. Inez McRaneywas kind enough to send this photograph, which she found in a picture box belonging to her mother, Idelle Johnson (Oct 15 1912-Jan 20 2001). According to Mrs. McRaney 1929 was the last year her mother attended the school. On the back of the photo is the notation that this is the first and second team boys of Helena Consolidated High School. Helena School, also known as Carnes School, was in south Forrest County. On the front of the photo the first and last men on the back row are identified as Hill Denson and George May. None of the others are identified. Below the photograph I have included enlarged images of each face. Please look carefully and if you can identify any of the team members please let me know!
