Carl Grady Conn

Services for Carl G. Conn of Wesson are 10 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 2, at Stringer Funeral Home Chapel in Hazlehurst with burial in Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation is Monday, Oct. 1, from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mr. Conn, 73, died Friday, Sept. 28, 2001, at King's Daughters Medical Center. He was born in Copiah County.

He was an electrician for who worked offshore for Arco Petroleum. He joined the Navy as a Seabee and was stationed in Adak, Alaska. He and his wife, whom he met while working in Texas, returned to Copiah County in 1973 where he formed and worked with Arco.

Survivors are his wife of 43 years, Novene Baylor Conn; daughters, Claudette Hulce and Rebecca Webb, both of Austin, Texas, Carol Conn of Pearl and Glenda Heggins of Canby, Ca.; mother, Alma Dee Phillips Townes of Palatka, Fla.; brother, Robert Lee Conn of Hazlehurst; sister, Rachael Conn Speed of San Matel, Fla.; six grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
