The State of Mississippi commissioned a census for 1845. The data for Copiah County was collected and
reported by E. W. Corley. His final report was dated August 29, 1845 so the collection and compiling was performed in the first half of the year. He took his original data and made his final report by
listing the surnames beginning with A first, then B…etc. It is not in true alphabetical order.I have prepared this transcription in alphabetical order for the convenience of the reader. There
were no page or line numbers for his report. His report is only a census for whites and lists the head of household with the number of males and females in the house. Where there is doubt as to the accuracy of this transcription, reference should be made to the microfilm copy of Mr. Corley's report which can be
found in the Mississippi Department of History and Archives.Larry Wheeler |
