E.O. RUTHERFORD
TUPELO-Services for E.O. Rutherford, 69, will be held at 10:30 a.m.
Wednesday in the First Presbyterian Church in Tupelo.
He died Monday in the Cedar's Health Center in Tupelo.
Burial will be in the Tupelo Memorial Park with Dr. Morton McMillam
and Rev. C. Patterson Clark officiating.
Mr. Rutherford was a former principal and head coach at Kossuth High
School. He led the football to the conference championship.
He was a founding member of the Tombigbee Conference and twice
served on the Executive Council of Mississippi High School
Activities Association. This graduate of Union University and the
University of Mississippi was also a member of the First
Presbyterian Church.
Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Lora S. Rutherford, one son, Joe
Rutherford, and one brother, C.W. "Mike" Rutherford, all of Tupelo.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to be sent to the
American Cancer Society or Camp Hopewell in care of the First
Presbyterian Church.
W.E. Pegues Funeral Directors will be in charge of arrangements.
