FUNERAL RITES FOR MRS. MAGERS CONDUCTED TODAY
Funeral rites were conducted this morning at 10 o'clock at McPeters
Chapel for Mrs. R.M. "Effie" Magers, of 607 Webster Street, Corinth.
Mrs. Magers died at the Corinth Hospital Monday night at 6:45
o'clock following a heart attack. She was 79 years of age.
She was a native of Baldwyn, Mississippi, but had made her home in
Corinth for about 25 years. She was a member of the First Baptist
Church and a member of the Eastern Star. She was married at Baldwyn
in 1894 to R.M. Magers, who preceded her in death in 1931.
She leaves two sons, T.M. Magers of Calhoun City, Mississippi and
J.T. Magers of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; three daughters, Mrs.
Margaret Stanfield of St. Louis, Missouri, Mrs. Mildred Doyle
Robinson of Corinth and Mrs. Kathleen Nash of Moulton, Alabama; two
sisters, Mrs. Maggie Moore of Mangum, Oklahoma, and Mrs. Mary
Broussard of Beaumont, Texas. She was the grandmother of Thomas
Eddie Doyle of Corinth.
Interment was in the Baldwyn Cemetery with McPeters Funeral Home in
charge of arrangements.
Pallbearers were Elbert Yarbrough, Leon McCullar, Lucian Epperson,
Harold Hinton, Arthur Doyle and Charlie Forsyth.
