STRICKLAND RITES IN BURLINGTON
Paul Tate Strickland, 61, of 608 Virginia Avenue,
died in a Chapel Hill hospital December 2nd following several years
of declining health and three months critical illness.
A native of Corinth, Mississippi, Strickland was
the son of the late George W. and Cora Jourdan
Strickland. He was the husband of Mrs. Frances
McCarley Strickland of the home,
who survives, and a veteran of World War II. He was a retired
quality control technician with Liberty Hosiery Mill and a member of
the Davis Street United Methodist Church.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include three daughters, Mrs.
D.G. Maddox of Glendale, Arizona, Mrs. G.C.
Morton of Salisbury and Miss Jeanie Strickland
of Washington, D.C.; one son, George W. Strickland
of Charlotte; three sisters, Mrs. Cora Nelms of
Washington, D.C., Mrs. E.G. Boyd of Dallas, Texas,
and Mrs. Dewey Wallis of Booneville; one brother,
Mark Strickland of Gary, Indiana, and 10
grandchildren.
Final rites were held Dec. ? at Rich and
Thompson Chapel in Burlington.
