LOYD COLEMAN, FORMER DEPUTY SUCCUMBS HERE
Loyd Kenderick Coleman, farmer, former deputy sheriff of Alcorn
County, a former city policemen, died at 2:30 a.m. today in
Magnolia Hospital. He was 56.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Coleman Memorial
Chapel with the Rev. T.E. Shelton and the Rev. Leonard Jumper
officiating. Burial will be in Henry Cemetery.
Born in Alcorn County, Coleman was a member of Gaines Chapel
Methodist Church. He also was a member of the Mississippi Peace
Officers Association.
Coleman is survived by his widow, Mrs. Margaret Steen Coleman;
two sons, Jerry Loyd Coleman and Kenneth S. Coleman, both of
Corinth; a brother, Bert Coleman of Corinth; three sisters, Mrs.
Clyde Meeks of Corinth, Mrs. Lillian Braddock of Meridian and
Mrs. Grace Tankersley of Jackson, Tennessee; and two
grandchildren.
The body will remain at Coleman Funeral Home until time for the
services.
