MR. GAMMEL DIED TODAY AT AGE 65
Lois Edward "Millard" Gammel, 65, of Route 3, Corinth, died at
2:45 a.m. today at his home after an illness of 16 months. He
had been a wood finisher in Memphis for 12 years.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday in New Hope
Church of Christ with Marvin Rainey officiating. Burial will be
in the New Hope Cemetery, Glen, Mississippi, with McPeters
Mortuary in charge.
Gammel, a member of the New Hope Church of Christ, was born in
Alcorn County. He married the former Dora Mae Newcomb July 4,
1942, in Corinth.
He is survived by his widow; three sons, Elbert Gammel, Claudie
Gammel and William Edward Gammel, all of Memphis; a daughter,
Mrs. Betty Jewel Malone of Memphis; a brother, Robert Gammel of
Memphis; four sisters, Mrs. M.F. Rogers of Corinth, Mrs. J.W.
Miles of Arlington, Tennessee, Mrs. J.A. Gann of Warren,
Tennessee, and Mrs. Homer Webster of Middleton, Tennessee; 21
grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
