LATCH SERVICES WILL BE SUNDAY IN LOCAL
CHURCH
Services for Eugene James Latch of 1265
Proper, retired farmer and landowner,
will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. at the
Harper Road Christian Church with Fred
Hucklebury and Preston Latch
officiating. Burial will be in Wheeler
Cemetery with McPeters Mortuary in
charge.
Latch, who was 85, died at 4:15
yesterday afternoon in Singing River
Hospital in Pascagoula, Mississippi,
after an illness of 5 days.
He was born in Alcorn County and was a
member of the Harper Road Christian
Church here.
He married the former Miss Nannie Mae
Johnson in May, 1902. She died Nov. 18,
1951.
He leaves three sons, James Latch and
Marcus Latch, both of Corinth; and
Robert Latch of Memphis; 5 daughters,
Mrs. Ruby Green, Mrs. Grace McLemore and
Mrs. Irene Felks, all of Rienzi, Mrs.
Victor Calvery of Corinth and Mrs. Ilene
Adams of Memphis; a sister, Mrs. Alcie
Brawner of Corinth; 40 grandchildren and
several great grandchildren.
The body will be at the family residence
at 1265 Proper Street until Sunday.
