William Charles Ruth
William "Charlie" Ruth, 84, of Longview passed away June 13, 2007, at an adult
care facility in Longview.
He was born Oct. 9, 1922, in Louisville, Miss., to Arthur and Edna (Thomas)
Ruth. He moved to the local area from Ukiah, Calif., in 1949.
Mr. Ruth served in the Army during World War II and was an auto parts salesman
for many years. Charlie held a private pilot's license, flying for pleasure and
fire patrol for Weyerhaeuser Co. He also enjoyed fishing trips to Alaska.
He is survived by his wife, Esther Ruth at home; and two sisters, Lavelle
Haggard of Mobile, Ala., and Velma Hooks of Louisville, Miss.
A funeral service will be held at noon Monday in the chapel of Columbia Funeral
Service. Private interment will follow at Longview Memorial Park.
