James D. "Dee" Miller, 80, a resident of Vernonia community, died on Nov.
27, 2001 at his home. Private interment was held. Mr. Miller was born and
raised in Louisville. He was a Veteran of World War II, having joined the
United States Army and served for three years with the 85th Cavalry 5th Armored
Division Reconnaissance Squadron in Germany, Central Europe, France and
Normandy until he received his Honorable Discharge in 1945. He was married to
the former Barbara M. "Bobbie" Higgins in Louisville on June 20, 1970.
Following their marriage they made their home in the Vernonia community. He
worked as a truck driver in the logging industry for over twenty years. He was
a member of the American Legion Post #168 in Cannon Beach. Survivors include a
sister-in-law Sarah Potter of Vernonia, OR; and several nieces and nephews.

OR 97064; or to the Salvation Army, P. O. Box 2823, Portland, OR 97208. Fuiten,
