"INGOMAR" CEMETERY UNION COUNTY, MISSISSIPPI (Located 4-5 miles South of New Albany on C.R. 90) (PRE 1900 HEADSTONE LISTING)

October 25, 1997

     This cemetery is well kept and located in an open field.  There are
several headstones dating back to the 1840's, which is the first group
I've seen from that era.  Several of the stones are badly weathered and
broken.  A few have fallen over and are almost buried in the soil, they
need to be reerrected.  The cemetery contains the oldest headstone I've
seen yet in Union County, dating back to 1840.
