BOLD ROBBERY OCCURS
-Iuka Has First Such Daylight Crime --- Thief Is Caught
The only daylight
robbery ever known to take place in Iuka happened Saturday noon
when Miss Kay Basden of Baldwyn, clerk in the Farm Security
office, started to the bank with $346 in money. As she walked
down the street Johnny Goss grabbed the money and made a get
away. Although Miss Basden screamed, he got a considerable start
before officers could take up pursuit. He finally was captured
and lodged in the Iuka jail. All but $26 was recovered.
