Mrs. Hubert Stevens-Dies At Residence East Of Coldwater-Rites Today
Senatobia, Miss., Feb 20--
Services for Mrs. Nina Pardue Strickland Stevens, who died at 6:30 a.m. Monday at her residence east of Coldwater, will be held at the Mount Zion Baptist Church at Independence Wednesday afternoon at 2. The Rev Charles O Pate will officiate and burial will be in the Mount Zion Cemetery with the C O Pate Funeral Home in charge. Mrs. Stevens was 49.
Mrs. Stevens was born in Tate County the community in which she lived and died. She was a member of the Hickory Grove Baptist Church and was educated in Tate County.
She leaves her husband, Hubert Stevens, of Coldwater; one son Robert Strickland, Memphis; five daughters, Mrs. Tracy Powers, Mrs. Clarence Irvin, Mrs. Hoyte Carpenter, all of Coldwater, Miss., Mrs. Evelyn Pope, Independence, Miss., and Mrs. Bill Cantwell, River Bank, Calif; one brother Luther Pardue, Jackson, Miss., five sisters, Mrs. Eugene Strickland, Mrs. Lorena Poag, both of Coldwater, Mrs. Letha Strickland, Olive Branch, Miss., Mrs. Tom O'Daniel, Mrs. Birdie O'Daniel, both of Memphis, and 24 grandchildren.
