Obit of John Carrington
Blue Goose News The Democrat, August 7, 1924
We regret the death of Mr. John Carrington, last Wednesday in a Memphis Hospital where he was carried some two weeks ago for treatment. John was a Woodman , a Mason, and a perfect law-abiding useful citizen of our country really an example, leting his light so shine that others seeing his good work might be led from darkness into light. Serving the people of his country as an acceptional business manager, a maker of friends of all classes, to know him was to love him as a kind, smiling, jovial, sociable promoter of good will, peace and happiness. He was laid to rest at Singleton Cemetery, Saturday, by the Masonic Order. He leaves a loving wife, and large family of children, a number of relatives and a host of friends to mourn his loss.
As a family provider few was his equal, carrying a nice policy in Lamar Insurance Co., also Woodman, to tide the family over the dark waves of adversity when he was called away.
