Aug 12, 1881 OBITUARY
JAMES ROBERT LOGAN was born December 31, 1862 and died of congestion, at Evansville, in Tate County, Mississippi, March 18, 1881. To those who knew BOBBY LOGAN, there remains a pleasing memory of his fine, bright face, his gentle and manly bearing and his promise of a man worthy to be esteemed as such. To those who were nearer and dearer to him solace is only found in the Christian's bright hope of a blessed immortality. His mother, truly pious and devoted to Christianity and those she loved, had preceded him but a few months to that bright home "beyond the river" where the walls are of jasper and the gates are pearly white. But little did she think when, after years of patient suffering, she breathed her last farewell to the loved ones about her like a sigh, the song of the weary that her proud and noble boy, just entering upon a life of manhood and promise so strong, so beautiful, so brave, so soon should be.
Austin, Miss July 25, 1881 W.
