MRS. BETTIE EMBREY
DIED ON DECEMBER 21
On December 21 Mrs. Bettie Embrey died at her home. She was 83 years old and had lived a life of service to her many friends. In her early days she joined the Methodist Church, and she spent her life in its work.
Mrs. Embrey married James H Embrey in 1872. To this union seven boys were born, five of whom survived her.
Mrs. Embrey also leaves a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Embrey, the husband of Sadie S Embrey, also leaves three sons, Ernest Embrey of Memphis, Albert Embrey of Coldwater and Lowrie Embrey of Cherry Hill, N J; two sisters, Mrs. Affie Gaines of Coldwater and Mrs. Aubry Scott of Senatobia; a brother, James Embrey of Hernando, 10 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

She was a lifetime member of Greenleaf Methodist Church. Mrs. Embrey, the widow of Horace Embrey leaves three sons, Ernest Embrey of Cordova, TN, Albert Embrey of Coldwater and Lowrie Embrey of Cherry Hill, NJ; three sisters, Vera Phillips of Ellisville, MS, Jewelene Dunlap of Byhalia and Mildred Midleton of Olive Branch; three brothers, Raiford Sowell of Olive Branch, Gene Sowell of Independence and Harry Sowell of Memphis, 10 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

Buried Here Last Week
MRS. JANE MOORE EMBREY, age eighty-five died at the home of her son, ROBERT EMBREY, at Coldwater buried at Bethesda Cemetery Tuesday afternoon. REV. WHITTEN officiating, the local Presbyterian Minister being away.
MRS. EMBREY lived in Senatobia a number of years ago and later lived west of Coldwater. She was a splendid Christian Character and had a large circle of friends. She was a loyal member of the Presbyterian Church. She is survived by one son MR. ROBERT EMBREY of Coldwater. MRS. EMBREY was the last of a prominent Tate County family, tow brothers and four sisters having preceded her into the Great Beyond. They were JOHN A. MOORE, J. S. MOORE, MRS. MAGGIE VEAZEY, MRS. WM. MEEK, MRS. WILSON and MISS. LIZA MOORE. She was the Aunt of MR. ROBERT S. MOORE of this place.

Mr Embrey is survived by his wife, Carolyn Embrey of Sheridan, Texas; two sons Ronnie Embrey and Donnie Embrey; three brothers, William Embrey of Coldwater, Tracy Embrey of Senatobia and James Billingsley of Tullahoma, Tenn.; five sisters, Lois Hutchinson of Coldwater, Robbie Chatman of Nesbit, Elsie Morgan of Coldwater, Julia Frances Respess of Horn Lake and Betty Hawks of Hernando; and one grandson, Max.

FLOYD A. EMBREY, 68, of Nesbit, formerly of Tate County, Miss., diesel mechanic for Kraft Foods, died Sunday at Baptist Memorial Hospital-DeSoto in Southaven. Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Nesbit Church of Christ, where he was a member, with burial in Greenleaf Cemetery in Coldwater, Miss. Brantley-Phillips Funeral Home in Hernando has charge. Mr. Embrey, the husband of Martha Holden Embrey, also leaves a daughter, Deborah Gill of Southaven; a son, Anthony Embrey of Hernando; a brother, Charley Embrey of Memphis, and four grandchildren. The family requests that memorials be sent to American Cancer Society or American Heart Association.
