ENGINEER DIES AFTER 20 YEARS OF SERVICE
JEFF M. DANCY, an engineer for the Illinois Central and the Yazoo and Mississippi Valley Railroad for 20 years died at St. Joseph's Hospital yesterday afternoon at 2 o'clock after an illness of 60 days. He was 42 years old.
MR. DANCY was raised in Coldwater, Miss. His first run was between Water Valley and Canton. He was later transferred to Memphis, where he made "runs" from this City to points in Mississippi. He worked up to the last. About 60 days ago he went to Chicago in search of medical treatment. He returned to Memphis.
About four weeks ago, MR. DANCY was taken to St. Joseph's Hospital, where he remained until his death. He was a member of William Ranshaw Division 23, Locomotive Engineers, and the McLemore Avenue Masonic Lodge. He is survived by his widow, MRS. LENORA GYPSY DANCY and one daughter MISS REBECCA DANCY.
Funeral services will be held from Collins' Funeral Home tomorrow morning at 10 o'clock, but arrangements have not been completed. His home was at 1193 Latham Street.
