Madison Lafayette Aldridge died March 1, 1900 and is buried in Center Hill Cemetery in Panola Co, MS beside his third wife, Joanah Wooten.
In Memoriam
Rev M L Aldridge was born February 11, 1838, and departed
this life March 1st 1900. A faithful soldier of the cross has fallen. He
was converted and joined the M E Church, South at the age of nine years
and in September 1861, was licensed to preach. He served a number of years
in the M. E. Church South, then joined the Free Methodist Church of which
he was a member at his death.
He was faithful to his church, a devoted husband and father, and a kind
and useful citizen in this community. He served as a gallant soldier in
the confederate army three years, was a member of the Knights of Honor;
also a true, prompt and faithful worker in the Masonic Lodge at Courtland,
Miss.

Several from here went to Loves Station Sunday to attend the burial of
Joe
Aldridge, who died at his home near that place Saturday. Mr.
Aldridge was a noble Christian gentleman. He at one time lived in
this community where he had many friends and relatives who regret very
much to hear of his death.
