Welcome to the Tate County, Mississippi Message/Query Board
All of the messages that were formerly on the GenConnect Boards are now here. Before the Queries, Biographies, Bible, Obits, Pension, Wills, etc were all located on separate icons and you had to click in and out of those to get the one you either wanted to read or post your information on. Now all are located here in one place so you can enter, view, post and search at one place.
There are 25 entries on a page just click on next to go to the next 25, etc. If you would like to view all entries just look through all of the subjects and click on the ones that are of interest to you. If you would rather see the entries in an "Opened" view then click "Expand".
If you have Tate County connections and would like to post a message here please make mention of your Tate County connection. Click on "Post New Message" and be sure to fill in the "Subject", "Message", and "Surname" lines. Next is the "Classification" line, this is new. If you don't put anything in Classification then it will be posted as a Query. If you click on the drop down menu you will find the old categories and some new ones, Bible, Biography, Birth, Cemetery, Census, Death, Deed, Immigration, Lookup, Marriage, Military, Obituary, Pension and Will. If you click on one of these, your posting will be viewable not only on the general page but also just as a Deed, Bible Cemetery, etc. Another new feature is the "Attachment" line. Here you may attach a GedCom (there is a limit of four generations), scans of Bible entries, Wills or even a photo, etc by clicking [Add]. You will want to "Preview Message" and then "Post Message" when you are satisfied with your message. Once a message is posted it will also appear on the Tate County mail list. Instructions on how to subscribe to the mail list can be found on the link below.
Please consider using the Surname of the person you are researching in Tate County in the subject line otherwise some will not look at your query.
I hope you have found this information helpful. If you need more help please go to the bottom of the message/query page and you'll find a source of information provided by RootsWeb.
Good luck with your research. This is an excellent way to share your information with others.
