Unknown when this family moved to MS, however they had two children born in AL; they were Josephine gardner b. 1835 and Martha GARDNER b. 1837. After the family arrived in KEMPER COUNTY MS, other children born of this union were, Thomas GARDNER b. 1840; Margaret (AKA Maggie) E. GARDNER, b. April 10, 1842 m. a WINDHAM (first name unknown) in 1860 or 1861 at Homewood, in Scott Co MS. Hillard GARDNER b. early 1844; William (AKA Wiley) GARDNER B. LATE 1844; Willis GARDNER b. 1849 and Virginia GARDNER B. 1852. Seeking information on my GGGrandmother's maiden name, Mary________; dates and places where the children were born in KEMPER CO MS. and in AL. Further searching for the Christian name of my GGGrandfather _______WINDHAM, who was from AL. GARDNER FAMILY was in KEMPER COUNTY MS on the 1850 census; shown being in Homewood, SCOTT COUNTY MS ON THE 1860 census. My GGMother Margarget (Maggie) E. WINDHAM is shown on the 1870 census, living with her parents William and Mary GARDNER in Forest, SCOTT COUNTY MS with her children, so her husband apparently had died. Living near Jordan and Elizabeth Walker on the 1850 Smith county census was a Bennett Edwards and a Jarusha Walker. Also living in Smith County was Isaac Edwards. Was Elizabeth the daughter of Bennett or Isaac Edwards? Who was John Jordan Walker's parents and siblings? Cannot locate the family between 1850 - 1880 when they appear on the Amite County, Ms census. Any help appreciated.

Researching the family of Walter W. HILLEN. He appears on the 1920 census as a resident of Front Street in Lake (Scott County). He was 53 years old, so he must have been born about 1867.
