This would have been the kind of camp the four Bailey brothers set up. Lewis was
on detached duty as a musician. We think he escaped capture because of this.
William looked after his three brothers, as he was the oldest. Lewis was only
sixteen at the time. I know they were happy that he escaped capture, as the
weather was so severe. Lack of food and warm clothing made it hard for any of
them to survive.
