JAMES McCANN
This Indenture made and entered into this twenty third day of
November in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and forty seven by
and between Meshack Patrick and Ann Patrick his wife of the first part and James
McCann of the second part, all of the County of Scott in the State of
Mississippi. Witnesseth that said party of the first part, for and in
consideration of the sum of two hundred dollars to them in hand paid by the said
party of the second part at and before the sealing and delivery of these
presents, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged have this day granted
bargained sell convey and confirm unto the said party of the second part and to
his heirs and assigns forever, all the right, title, claim and interest in and
to the following described tracts or parcels of land situate lying and being in
the County of Scott and State of Mississippi, known and designated as / the
south west quarter of the South West Quarter of section five (5) and the East
half of the South East quarter of section six (6) all in township No. seven (7)
of Range No. Nine (9) East together with all and singular the rights, privileges
heriditaments and appurtenances thereunto belonging or in any wise appertaining.
To have and to hold the same unto him the said party of the second part and to
his heirs and assigns forever - And the said party of the first part for
themselves their heirs, executors and administrators, the right and title to the
above described lots or parcels of land and premises unto the party of the
second part, his heirs and assigns will forever warrant and defend against the
lawful claim or claims of all and every person whosoever claiming or to claim
the same, or any part or parcel thereof both at law and in equity - In witness
whereof the said party of the first part have hereunto set their hands and
affixed their seals the day and year above written.

Scott County ( Certificate of Acknowledgement
This day Personally appeared before me Edward Beale an acting Justice of the
Peace in and for said County the above named. Meshack Patrick and Ann Patrick
his wife who acknowledged that the signed sealed and delivered the foregoing
deed of conveyance on the day and year, and, for the purposes therein mentioned
as their own act and deed. the said Ann Patrick acknowledged on a private
examination separate and apart from her said husband that she signed, sealed and
delivered the same freely and voluntarily. Given under my hand and seal, this
4th day of November & 1847.
