Jack D. Googe Once Sheriff

Hon. Jack D. Googe was among this county's most prominent citizens. Born at Oakland, Itawamba, he came to this county in 1889, and became a large land owner and followed farming for many years with signal success.
He was sheriff in Booneville.
In the year 1882, Mr. Googe was married to Miss Caroline Patton of Marietta. There were nine children, K.D. Googe, Mrs. W.M.B. Cox, Mrs. Joe Norman, Dr. J. Turner Googe, Mrs. James Thomas, Mrs. Leland Smith, Mrs. Ray Watkins, Paul Googe, and Mrs. Clayton Stuart.
