Bernice R. Walker

OKOLONA - Bernice Russell Walker, 81, died Monday, March 3, 2003, at the Bay Area Medical Center in Corpus Christi, Texas. She was a former employee of Meadow Sportswear Inc. in Okolona for many years before retiring. She was a devoted wife, mother and homemaker. She was a member of Mt. Pisgah United Methodist Church in Okolona.

Services will be at 3 p.m. Sunday at Mt. Pisgah United Methodist Chruch with the Rev. Jimmy Barnes officiating. Burial will be in the Walker Cemetery in Monroe County. Fields Funeral Home of Okolona is in charge of the arrangements..

Survivors include three sons, George T. Walker Jr. and his wife, Cassandra, of Atlanta, Ga., Marvin W. Walker and wife, Miriam, of Charleston, S.C., and Terry L. Walker and wife, Denise, of Tupelo; four daughters, Annie L. Jordan of Kansas City, Kan., Margie N. Frazier and husband, William, of Corpus Christi, Texas, Eleanor O. Forsythe of Houston, Texas, and Clara Delois Snow of Atlanta; one stepdaughter, Nancy K. Crigler of Shannon; two sisters, Melba O. Burton, and Glendora Nabors and husband, Willie Earl, all of Milwaukee, Wis.; one uncle, Henry Babbitt of Okolona; host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, George T. Walker Sr.; two sisters; two brothers; a son; and a stepdaughter.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home
