Obituary of Esther Caldwell

Esther Caldwell Dies at Anson; Funeral Set Today

  

Esther Caldwell, 76, Jones County resident since 1907, died in the Anson General Hospital at 555 a.m. Friday. She had been hospitalized two weeks.

The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday in the Bethel Baptist Church in the Funston Community east of Anson, with the Rev Bill Beaty, pastor, officiating. Burial in Bethel Cemetery will be directed by Lawrence Funeral Home.

Born in Pontotoc County, Miss., on July 19,1885, Miss Caldwell moved with her family to Collin County in 1900, to VanZandt County in 1902 and finally to Jones County in 1907.

Surviving are a brother, Melvin Caldwell of Anson; a sister, Mrs. Clifford A. Goostree of McKinney, and one niece and one nephew.

 

Sister of Mrs. Goostree Passes Away in Anson

Mrs. Clifford Goostree recently returned from Anson Texas, where she was called by the illness and death of her sister, Miss Esther Caldwell who passed away January 20 in the hospital there. Miss Caldwell, well known in McKinney where she had often visited, had resided at Anson some 50 years. She was a native of Missippi.

Funeral services were held January 21 in Anson. Surviving are a brother, Melvin Caldwell, of Anson, a sister, Mrs. Goostree of this city , a nephew who attends NTSC, Denton; and a niece, Mrs. Elizabeth Ann Kraeft of McKinney. Also a great-niece, Ruth Elizabeth Kraeft.

Mrs. Goostree and Mrs. Kraeft attended the funeral services.
