In 1968, John Wilson (pastor of Monroe Presbyterian Church) compiled a history of both Monroe Presbyterian Church and the Old Monroe Cemetery. In 2008, Harold Hodges of Algoma, MS edited and updated his work and re-issued the book. As part of the editing he re-platted the cemetery and verified the information.
