LEGGETT - Information on Col.(?) William Leggett, father of Benjamin Wright Leggett, who was at one time Constable in Magnolia, MS, and is buried in Pike County in a family plot near Magnolia. He is my Great, Great, Great, Great Grandfather on my mothers side. I have read in one place that he came to Missippi in 1807 frome Georgia, through North Carolina and Virginia. Another place said he came through Kentucky. It is thought that he is a Revolutionary War veteran, but I belive he would not be old enough since his son was born in 1815.

JUMPER - Seeking info on descendants of an elusive "MR. JUMPER", who died October 25, 1845 in Pike County, Mississippi. He was a native of South Carolina. What was his given name? Did he have a wife and family. Identified only as "Mr. Jumper" in THE REPUBLICAN (Woodville,Wilkinson County, Mississippi) newspaper, he removed to Wilkinson County about 1820 where he lived until two years before his death. Believe he is a grandson of John Conrad Jumper, a German immigrant who settled near present-day Columbia, SC. Was there a possible relationship between "Mr. Jumper" and Elizabeth JUMPHREYS, who married Lewis A. YARBOROUGH in Wilkinson County in 1837?

HUX, WILKINSON, DAVIS - Working on genealogy of the HUX, WILKINSON, DAVIS families of Lincoln County. Trying to locate info on the family of Tom Lester DAVIS who married Frances Mathilda HUX. Trying to locate any info on the family of Mary E Wilkinson who married Ira HUX in 1906 in Lincoln County. Mary's father's name was Samuel and mother was possibly Malissie. Mary was one of approx. six children; only other two know siblings names are Murray and Polly (who married a Buckley and moved to TX). I was told that my greatgreatgrandparents on the WILKINSON and DAVIS lines are supposed to be buried in either Pike or Lincoln Counties. Although I have no hard proof, my understanding from family members is that the WILKINSONS and DAVIS branches were also located in the area of Summit as well as the northeast portion of Pike County (town names unknown-all anyone recalls is that there were "in the rural areas") I would be appreciative of any info anyone knows of or any possible leads. Thank you.
