Benjamin TONEY is in the 1870 Pike Co census

of Charles TONEY of Washington Parish, Benjamin was in Smith in 1860 with first
wife Emily JONES, and married his second wife Mariah ALLEN in Rankin in 1863.
Mariah is listed in the household of Isom JONES in 1860. Is she the daughter of
Isom's wife Lucy by a previous marriage? Many of his children lived in
Washington Parish when grown; one daughter married in West Feliciana. Have been
told that Benjamin was buried in Jones Co. Cannot find any record of Benjamin

"Shiloh" was a popular name for churches, but Jeremiah was

Shiloh Baptist Church. I am trying to make the connection to my line of
Walkers. My great-great-grandfather was Thomas Jefferson Walker. He was the son
of Jeremiah Walker and may have originated in Mississippi. Jeremiah's parents
could have been John Walker and Sarah Gates who moved to Mississippi from
Georgia. John and Sarah are supposed to be in my line. Any information to

this: 1) John Walker (b: 1785 in Virginia) m. in Georgia, Sarah Gates (b: 1790

been killed by the Indians??? Does anyone know of a newspaper source that might
