BOYD

 

Andrew Boyd born 1770 in Ireland is in Georgia before 1799, moved to Tennessee between 1811-1813 and to Pike County in 1814.”  There seems to be a question about his wife—most places show her as unknown though several have Polly Howard listed.  The Boyd family settled near Felder’s Campground. 

 

The 12 children of Andrew Boyd:

 

John D. Boyd born 12-15-1799 in Georgia and died after 1866 in Lanier Co. TX. married

Mary Warren around 1817 in Leake County, MS.  They had seven children: Benjamin Franklin, James, Priscilla, Eliza, Andrew Jackson, William I. and Mary Ann.

 

Isaac Boyd born 9-13-1801 in Georgia and died before 1840.  He married Nancy Stacey about 1805 in GA.  They also had seven children: John A., Andrew Madison, illegible in records, Rebecca, Thomas, Nancy, and Angeline.

 

James M. Boyd born 1-2-1804 in Georgia and married Martha Gulledge around 1824.  Eleven children: Isaac, William M., Lucius, Mary, Sally, Nancy, Susan, Pearly, Martha Ann, Civilla Jane and Linus.

 

Jane Heron Boyd born 6-9-1806 and died probably before 1816.

 

Nancy Boyd born 7-8-1809 and died probably before 1816.

 

Simeon Boyd born 5-20-1811 in GA and died 2-7-1873. He’s buried in Bogue Chitto Baptist Church Cemetery.  He married Mary “Polly” Greer about 1831 and Mary Adeline Owens 11-4-1852 in Lawrence County.

 

Eighteen children:  Sarah, Jefferson, Jasper, Newton, John, Jesse, William, Winston, Levi, Mary Arminda by Mary Greer and Laura Izell, Violetta Ann, Linus Lancy, Frances E., Abi Deliah, Louis Jackson, Simeon C. and Sametha Valula by Mary Owens.

 

William M. Boyd born 10-20-1813 in TN and died 11-12-1883 in Pike County. He’s buried in the Boyd Cemetery in Walthall County. He married #1 Mary E. “Polly” Beard around 1832 and #2 Sarah Ann Alexander . He had sixteen children: Anderson W., Kizziah Jane, Rachel, John E., Benjamin Franklin, Francis Marion, Elizabeth Jane, and Asa by Mary Beard and Robert Lee, James Monroe, Martha Ann, Lucy Ann, Warren, Daniel Webster, Joseph Cicero, and Margaret Ann by Sarah Alexander.

 

Jackson Boyd born 1-2-1815 in MS married  #1 Rebecca Day around 1836 and #2 Mary Ann Alexander in Mary 1859.

 

His ten children were:  William Dennis, Catherine, and Berkely by Rebecca and Robert W., Melvinia Ann, Jesse Andrew, George Washington, Henry, and Eleazer by Mary Alexander.

 

Harvey Boyd born 10-3-1816 in MS and died about 1903.  He’s buried in the old primitive Baptist Church Cemetery, near Ruth, MS.  He married first to Eliza Gulledge on 10-26-1837 and second to Cassandra Ivey on 9-17-1882 in Pike County.

 

Fifteen children:  Zachariah, Noah, Jeremiah, Isaiah, Sarah Jane, Cynthia Ann, Samantha Ann, Laura Elizabeth, Benjamin Franklin, Henry Samuel, William Newton, Martha Ann Malena, Samantha Isyillea, Colean Macnelia, and Dora Maybel.

 

Anderson Boyd born 7-12-1818 in MS and died 8-8-1891.  He married Martha Greer around 1836 and they had eleven children:  Amice, Jesse A., Silas Cicero, Frances E., Rachel, Courtney, Amanda, Vastine, Ephram Allen, Margaret Abye, and James William.

 

Nancy Boyd born 7-12-1821 in MS.

 

Jesse Boyd was born 3-25-1823 in MS and probably died in the civil war.  He married Elizabeth Brent (or Beard or Williams) around 1844 and they moved to Winfield Parish, LA in 1858.  His eight children were Michael, Emeline, Calvin, Syintha, David D.

Margaret, Adeline, and William.
