Obituary from the Texas Baptist
Andrew Jackson departed this life November 14, 1884, aged 49 years, at His home on Red River, about 13 miles from Texarkana. Brother Neely was born and raised in Rankin Co., Miss. His parents gave the ground for the church and grave yard of what is still known as Liberty Church.
Bro. Neely was converted, baptized and united with the church in 1866; being A brother-in-law to the Hon. Judge Estes of Texarkana, Texaw. When Bro. Neely came to this country, he united with the First Baptist Church of Texarkana and lived a constant christian life until called to a better land.
He leaves a devoted wife, three daughters and two sons (all small) to follow him to the Father's home on high.
G. A. Moffat, Pastor
First Baptist Church, Texarkana
The remains of Mr. A. J. Neely were brought to the residence
