Adams County, MSGenWeb wishes to express it's sincere appreciation to
Madge Harris for
her tremendous assistance in compiling this information, and to William
Metcalfe for
contributing additional names.
Although most plantation owner/investors lived in Adams County, is is
probable
that some lived across the river in Concordia Parish, LA. Some
owners lived on
the plantation, but maintained a town home in Natchez. No attempt
has been
made to identify those people.
Not all of the properties were crop bearing plantations. Some
land was owned
for the timber which supplied saw mills.
