James Lee Caldwell , came to America with his parents as a baby. They were from Ireland. The family was in Virginia. As a young man, he rode his horse from Tennessee to near Oxford, Mississippi. He liked that location so he built a house. He married and lived there until his death at the age of 94 years. His wife preceded him in death by 20 years. He was a close neighbor to the Gunn family. His daughter Dora Lee married James Franklin Gunn. They met as young children and loved no other.
