This Indenture made
between Arthur S.
Denton and the Presby
terian Church at Pleasant Hill all
of La Fayette County
Mississippi, Witnesseth: That the said Denton for and in consideration of the love and affection he has for said Church and one dollar in hand paid, doth hereby sell & convey to said Church, the following described lot or [end of page 201]
peice of land containing ten acres more or less, in section twenty one Township nine of Range 2 west, being in North west quarter of said section, beginning at a stake near four post oaks, about two hundred yards S. E. of the Church at S. E. Corner of the survey running west thirty five (35) poles to a stake a fine pointer, thence north forty five poles to a stake, three black jack pointers, thence east thirty five poles to a stake - a red oak & fine pointer, thence south forty five poles to the beginning. To have and to hold the same with the appurtenance, heriditament [hereditament], embracing a Church house & graveyard for the use of the Chamberland Presbyterian Church worshipping at that place & now called Pleasant Hill Church, so long as the same may be used as a Church house by said Denomination, will the express reservation that when the same cease to be used by the Cumberland Presbyterian Church or a place of worship or may be transferred to any other person or church the same may and shall revert to the said A. S. Denton , his heirs and assigees. And the said A. S. Denton for himself , his heirs & assignees doth hereby covenant with said church that he has a legal title to said land & that the same is unencumbered, and he does hereby warrant & will forever defend the title to the same to the said Church (Cumberland Presbyterian ) as now organized and their successers forever.

La Fayette County } Personally appeared [end of page 202][page 203]before me W S Foard, Clerk of the Probate Court of the County aforesaid, A S Denton, Who acknowledged that he signed sealed and delivered the foregoing deed on the day and year of the date, hereof as his act and deed for the purpose, therein expressed.
