      G. BUTLER to Levi POWELL.  "Whereas one William WRIGHT recovered a judgment for the sum of Fifty Two & 52/100 dollars costs against one Robert B. HOUSTON et. al. in the Circuit Court of Lafayette County on the 16th day of Nov. 1846 upon which a writ of fisi facios issued on the 26th day of May 1847 which came into my hands, as Sheriff of Lafayette County on the 29th day of May 1847 and there not being personal property of the said R. D. HOUSTON sufficient to satisfy paid execution I levied the same on the 10th day of July 1847 on a certain tract of land as the property of said R. B. HOUSTON containing by estimation four hundred & eighty acres lying in Lafayette County in Township No. 6 of Range No. 1 West of the Basis Meridian of the Chickasaw Cession & bounded as follows the North half & South West quarter of Section No. 33 thirty three and after having advertised & given notices according to Law, I did offer said tract of land at public sale at the court house door of Lafayette County on the 6th day of September 1847 agreeable to said advertisements & notices & one Levi POWELL being the highest & best bidder the same was struck off to him at the price of Seven & 50/100 dollars the same being to me in had paid by the hidgest bidder therefore in consignance of the premises I do Transfer & Convey to said Levi POWELL theirwith forever all the rights & titles of the said R. B. HOUSTON to the said tract of land of 480 acres for the consideration of seven & 50/100 Dollars paid to me as aforesaid to have & to hold the same unto the said Levi POWELL his heirs & assigns forever in as full and ample a manner as I as Sheriff aforesaid can or aught to Convey the same but no further or otherwise.  This 6th day of September 1847."  Signed:  C. G. BUTLER, Sheriff of Lafayette County.....Confirmation:  State of Mississippi, Lafayette County.  "Personally appeared before me Asa NIX, Clerk of the Probate Court of said County, Charles G. BUTLER whose name is subscribed to the within deed who acknowledged that he signed sealed and delivered the within deed on the day and year of its date as his act and deed for the purposes therein mentioned.  Given under my hand and the seal of said Court as officer this the 7th day of October A. D. 1847."  Signed: Asa NIX, clerk.  *Note:  No sale for this land found in Lafayette Co., MS. deed records.
