            Martha Glenn Stephens Cofield, 72, retired school teacher and former 
            manager of Cofield Studio in Oxford, died Monday, September 29, 2008 
            at Hermitage Gardens in Oxford, MS.  The funeral service will be 
            Wednesday, October 1, 2008 at 1:30 P.M. at Christ Presbyterian 
            Church in Oxford with Rev. Ed Norton officiating. Burial will follow 
            in New Albany City Cemetery in New Albany, MS. Visitation will be  
            Wednesday, October 1, 2008 from 12:30 P.M. until 1:30 P.M. at Christ 
            Presbyterian Church. Waller Funeral Home is in charge of 
            arrangements.
             
            Born in New Albany, MS, Mrs. Cofield was a member of St. Andrews 
            Methodist Church in Oxford. She was a volunteer member of the 
            American Red Cross, an Alumni advisor to the Kappa Delta Sorority, 
            an active member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and the 
            United Daughters of the Confederacy. She was also a member of the 
            Lafayette County Historical Society. She was preceded in death by 
            her husband, John Robert Cofield and her brother, Joseph Taylor 
            Stephens.

            She is survived by her daughter Amma Elisabeth Cofield of Jackson, 
            MS; two sons, John Benjamin Cofield and Glenn Walton Cofield both of 
            Memphis, TN; three grandsons, James Houston Cofield, Scott Walton 
            Cofield, and Andrew Gibson Cofield all of Memphis, TN.
