Frances "Fannie" "Fan" Knight was the daughter of Rachel (a slave of John "Jackie" Knight) and Jesse Davis Knight (son of John "Jackie" Knight). She was born March 18, 1864 in Jones County, MS. She died May 8, 1916 in Jones County, MS. Fannie married 1st to George Madison "Mat" Knight (see Marriage Bond). George "Mat" was born 24 Mar 1859 (son of Newton Knight & Serena Turner). He married 2nd to Frances Martha Smith (daughter of John A. & Cassandra Knight). Frances had a previous marriage to Samuel G. Smith.

Know all men by these presents, that we G. M. Knight and Newton Knight of the County of Jasper, and State of Mississippi, are held and firmly bound unto the State of Mississippi in the [penance] sum of tow hundred dollars, current money of the United States of America, which payment, well and truly to be made and performed, we and each of us, do hereby bind ourselves, our heirs, executors, administrators and assigns, jointly and severally, firmly by these presents.
Witness our hands and seals, this the 19th day of December A. D. 1878.
The condition of this obligation is such, that, whereas application had this day been made to the Clerk of the Circuit Court of the County of Jasper, and Sate aforesaid, for the granting and issuing of license for the marriage of G. M. Knight and Fanny Knight. Now, therefore, if these shall be no lawful cause to obstruct the marriage for which this license is granted, then this obligation to be void, otherwise to remain in full force and effect.

Fannie married 2nd to Dock Howze. Dock might be Native American. In the 1880 Jasper Co., Ms Census a child Dock age 18, listed as Indian, is living with his parents "Lewis & Milly Indian." In 1916 a Benson Howze is listed in the 1916 Death Index for Jones Co., MS. Is this Dock?
Fannie and George moved to Colorado with the Mormans and two of her children were born in Colorado: Gailie and Letha.
In the 1900 Jasper County, Mississippi census, Fannie is listed with some of her children. She is listed as widowed.
