WALL, THORNBERRY

Researching Theophilus Wall married Margaret Tabetha Thornberry , They lived in Itawamba. His father Ezekiel Wall. Theiophilus had a least one brother, Resdon Wall, and 4 boys. James Madison Wall b. 3-10-1844 Joseph Wylie Wall b. 1848, Theophilus Mack Wall b. 1852 and Wesley Wall. Theophilus # 1 died of a snakebite when T. Mack was very young. Margaret remarried to a J. R. White. Wesley went to Arkansas. The other 3 brothers including little T. Mack stuck together. All were in CSA, Mack as possibley a water boy, James was only 16. He was in MS. Calvery. The 3 boys ended up in Texas. I have a lot of information on 3 boys and will share.

I am searching for any information on Redick (Reddick) Massengale (Massingill) came to Itawamba in 1830's with brother Alfred. One son was William married to Mary Fletcher Williams. I would appreciate any information anyone might have.

I am looking for info on an Aron Stewart SPENCER, married to Katherin GANN. I have no dates on them, but they had a son, Robert Stewart SPENCER who was born 3 Oct 1862, died 14 Nov 1932. Robert was married to Ellen Francis WOULDRIDGE who was born 27 Jun 1874, dies 20 Mar 1948. Ellen's father was William Henry "Coonie" WOULDRIDGE, born 14 Jan 1851, died 21 Dec 1938. He was married to Martha GENTRY, born 8 Jul 1853, died 25 Jan 1939.

Charlotte Manuel andy@oio.net In Itawama Co. I have William Gordon LIVINGSTON m. Samantha Louise WADDLE on Dec 5,1900. Samantha was born May 4,1873 in Itawamba Co. to W.A. (Billy)and Mary Margret BEAM WADDLE. William was born in MS on Feb 28,1896 to Leander Young and Martha Z ??. They were both listed in Prentiss Co. on 1870 censes as being b. in SC c. 1850. Other children include Bell, Tom, Della who m. a MILLER and possibly another child. Samantha's siblings include Tommy, Inie, Marhta and Maudine who m. a DR. George Farr (PHARR). MILLER, Samuel

SAMUEL MILLER, B ABT. 1797, ALA. Lived in Itawamba Co., Ms.was my gr-gr-grandfather. My gr-grandfather married Mary Milam in 1857, and they came to Freestone Co., Tx. in 1870, I suppose leaving his family. My gr-grandfather's brothers were STEWART, PLEASANT, HAMILTON, All born around 1820's, SARAH, BELINDA were his sisters. I see two Sarah's who got married in the 1850's. "Will"iam E Robinson md. Martha Ann Fason on Nov. 4, 1890 in Webster Co. Mississippi. They had 3 children "John" Benjamin, "Dock" Vandon, and Lou "Willie". In 1904 "Will" left his family to find work, was never heard from again. Was told he'd joined the Merchant Marines, not confirmed as yet. There is a record of a J. M. Livingston, sgt., in Capt. J. L. Finley's Company muster roll for service in Civil War. Does anyone know if J. M. is the same as James M. born 1835 in AL and listed on 1850 census Itawamba Co, MS as son of William F. Livingstone?

WADDLE, BEAM, MANUEL

I am looking for info on my great grandparents, Billy WADDLE and Mary Margret BEAM. They lived in Itawamba CO. in 1873 when my grandmother Samantha Louise was born there. My grandfather still lived there around 1928. They are both said to be buried in Salam. Other children included Tommy, Maudinie, Inie, and Martha. SPENCER - MEDLEY

I'm looking for any information on the family or relatives of Hiram SPENCER and his wife, Nancy MEDLEY. Hiram was born in South Carolina in 1808. At some time he had moved to Tennessee, where he married his first wife, name unknown, and had 2 sons, Matthew (b.1835) and William (b.1838). In late 1838 or early 1839, he moved to Itawamba co. Mississippi where he married Nancy MEDLEY on 09 January 1839. There they had the following children:George R. SPENCER b.1842; John Lemuel SPENCER b.1847; Elizabeth C. DULANEY, ROUSE, CHILCOAT, JOHNSON

My father is John Claude DULANEY, b. 8/5/1910 in Fulton, Itawamba County, MS. His parents were William DULANEY and Edna ROUSE DULANEY. His maternal grandparents were William ROUSE & Julia CHILCOAT ROUSE. His paternal grandparents were John DULANEY & Nancy JOHNSON DULANEY. Dad's grandpa John was known as "square John". Searching for more information on three brothers George, Joseph, and Jorial BARNETT (sons of Richard? BARNETT and Susannah?) who moved from Lawrence County, Alabama to Itawamba County in 1837. George married Minerva GREEN in Alabama and their children were: Caroline, Jane, Alfred, James, William, Nancy, Martha, Cornelia, Lucy and Robert. Joseph married Sarah HAMPTON in Alabama and had: James, Rial, Cynthia, Rufus Calvin, Mary Ann, Richard, George, Harvey, and Almary. Jorial married Martha in Alabama and had: Susan, Mary, Richard, James, George, Benjamin, Martha, and John. George and his family moved to Kaufman Co., TX between 1842 and 1846. Jorial and his family moved to Cherokee Co., TX between 1844 and 1847. Joseph and his family moved to Kaufman Co., TX between 1866 and 1868. Joseph's son, Rial BARNETT married Mary Jane THOMAS, daughter of Pleasant Green THOMAS and Mary Elizabeth E. BOURLAND.

MCKOWN, LOCKHART

Am looking for the the death date and probate file reference for FRANCIS MCKOWN (b. ca.1791)who died in Itawamba County in the late 1860s or early 1870s. He was originally from Union District (now Cherokee County), SC, and first arrived in MS in Monroe Co. in the 1830s. His wife was MARGARET LOCKHART (ca.1802-1848). They apparently converted to Mormonism in the 1840s and made the trek to Utah in 1848. Francis returned to MS and was in Itawamba County by 1851. He fathered nine children, among whom was SAMSON MCKOWN (1830-1908), who died in Hill Co., TX.

BOWEN, MCCLATCHY, LAWSON

BOWEN, Henderson, born 1855 in North Carolina, emigrated with family to Itawamba County, MS, circa 1856. Married Sally LAWSON (or possibly Sarah, or possibly a different surname). Her tombstone reads:" S.B.E. BOWEN. Born: 11 November 1857, died Augst 9, 1889 (possibly 11 August, 1889).They had several children, J. J. BOWEN, infant daughter, born: 2 August 1889, died 29 August 1889. Ulice Clifford BOWEN, born 4 April 1886; he immigrated to Texas circa 1903; and married Ruby MCCLATCHY (my grandparents) B. Eckford Bowen, born 1884; immigrated to Durant, OK at unknown date.
Henderson BOWEN remarried Mary Susan (unknown surname) 1890.They had several children, including:Cordis Bowen born 27 February 1895. Henderson BOWEN had several children, but I don't know by which mother:Erie Bowen, Escar C. Bowen, Ordis Bowen, emigrated to Durant, OK at unknown date, Pansy Bowen, Rena Bowen.
