- I
am looking for information on my gggrandfather Joseph Josiah
RICE. He was born in Itawamba Co. MS in 1845. His father
may have been Robert W. RICE who served as a Baptist Minister
in Itawamba Co. around that time. Joseph served in Co. K,
19th Regt. Miss. Inf., C.S.A. He enlisted at Baldwyn, MS,
Feb. 26, 1862. He was paroled April 9, 1865 at Appomattox
Court House, VA., as a Corporal. Joseph moved to Kaufman
Co. TX in January of 1868. He married Mollie Ann McDonald
b.1848. They had six children, Henry, Dumas, Charlie, Dora,
Pet and Tommie, 3 boys, 3 girls.

BANKSTON 16 January 1871 in Itawamba Co. "Jennie",
her Mother Martha J. (nee HUEY), and "Jennie's"
siblings: Abner S., Charles, James, Mary, Mattie D., Susan
C., and Emily R. living in Itawamba Co. at 1870. Thier father,
Baswell/Braswell BANKSTON not listed on 1870 Census. The
family moved to Itawamba Co. from Harris Co. GA. The children
of E.H. MARTIN and "Jennie": Walter MARTIN (b.ca.1875),
dau. Roxie/Rausie (b. Aug. 1879) and my gf, Clinton Porter
MARTIN b. April 1883. EH apparently died by 1894. Submitted

great grandfaather's name was William Zackary Strickland,
married Bonnie Elizabeth Parker, Bonnie died July 4th,1934?
buried at Lann cemetery in Quincy MS. William, is buried
at Greenwood Springs. Does any one have any info.on who
were either of their parent's are or where they were from
? I know they lived in Detroit,Decatur, ALA,before moving
into Itawamba Co. Also William,was married before to a Georgia
Davis,or( Davies ) they had 2 daugther's.One of them married
into Canup, family the other,married a Snow. If you have

family of MILTON LEWIS JOHNSON I, who was born in NC (probably
Cumberland Co). Wife was SUSAN MORGAN, born in AL. They
had known children, MILTON LEWIS JOHNSON II, b in Nov. 1851
AL; ANDREW JACKSON JOHNSON, b in AL, WILLIAM JOHNSON, b
abt 1855 in MS, and MARY LEE JOHNSON, b abt 1863 in MS.SUSAN
JOHNSON was in Itawamba Co MS in 1870 census. Husband, MILTON,
not listed. I have not been able to find MILTON LEWIS II
in an 1860 census, which mich give more information about
his parents and siblings. MILTON II married JOAN CARLOCK,
on Dec. 22, 1880 in Union Co MS. JOAN was the daughter of
WILLIAM C. CARLOCK, and ELIZABETH TATUM. WILLIAM left ELIZABETH
and went to TX, where he died in the 1920s.MILTON LEWIS
JOHNSON II and JOAN CARLOCK’s known children were:1. REBECCA
A. “BECKY”, b Jan 1880: married MELLON WHITLOCK2. PEYTON
DALLAS, b Nov 1883: married EMMA WHITLOCK3. CALLIE, b Nov
