family that lived in Itawamba County. Their daughter, Peltry (Birdie) was my grandmother. She married Henry Tucker, son
of Henry Leverett and Martha Tucker. Don't know where Ben and Della are buried. Henry and Birdie lived most of their
lives in the Tilden community and are buried in the Union Grove Cemetery. Thank you. |

CO., AL, she was the wife of Marsillus H. DOWDLE b. 1/1/1839. Marsillus was killed in Civil War 3/21/1862 and Wife , Misouri
applied for pension in Itawamba Co., MS in 1866. I believe they only had one child, daughter. Any information would

told his first name was John maybe. He supposedly left a wife and children in Tenn. and came to teach school in the
Salem or Fairview communities in Itawamaba Co. I haven't been able to find him in census records from 1850 to 1880.
He had two sons James Verny and Vaston. Verny was born in 1871 and married Nodie Tolue Jones. Any info will be greatly
appreciated and I'll happily share any I have. Other surnames I am researching are: CROMEANS, TALLANT, LINDSEY, CASTLEBERRY,
BRASSELL, EDGE, BOWEN & TITTLE. |
