HARDIN(G)
Judy
Roberts Sep 28 1996
My great grandmother; Frances
Missouri HARDIN(G) was supposedly born Feb 13, 1860 in Eupora, MS. Her
parents were listed in subsequent census records by her, as being born
in AL. However we have never been able to find out her parents names. She
is suppose to have a sister Lizzie and a sister Ann. In about 1877 she
married Willis Nathaniel Wofford who was from Choctaw Co. Ms. They had
my grandmother in Attala Co. MS. in Aug. 1878. I have not been able to
find her in census records with any parents in 1860 or 1870. By 1880 she
is living with W.N. WOFFORD. Does anyone have a Lizzie or Ann HARDIN(G)
born in AL or MS around the 1855-1865 time frame, give or take? I know
Francis Missouri HARDIN(G) m. a John Flether CARROLL in MS after Mr. Wofford
died. She had 3 or 4 more children, and moved to Texas, where she died
in 1930. However she left no death certificate to trace parentage. Any
help greatly appreciated.

MADISON
Joyce
Jordan May 14 1997
James MADISON from Memphis
m. Unknown from Yazoo County. They had at least one child, Walter
Scott MADISON, b. about 1850 and d. about 1925 in Belzoni area of Humphreys
County. James divorced and returned to Memphis, remarried and is
thought to have more children. His first wife remained in the Yazoo/Belzoni
area. Walter Scott MADISON first married a COBB, who d. in childbirth,
then married Ida Mae Hamilton UPCHURCH, a widow thought to be from Yazoo
County. She had two children, Nora and Claude. Together they
had Pauline, Edward Henry, and (?)Brewer. Ida Mae died in a hospital
in Memphis about 1928. Edward Henry MADISON is my grandfather and
he died in 1933 in Clay County. It is thought Walter and Ida Mae
lived north of Belzoni in a community known as Jaytown, Jaketown, or something
similiar. Buried in Belzoni cemetary is an Annie Madison, born 1899
and died 1913, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W.S. Madison. Is this the
same Madisons? Edward married Roxie Mae Young from Clay county in
1917 in this area. She was visiting her uncle Tom Young who owned
a store in this community. I am having a terrible time trying to
find anything about the Madisons who lived somewhere near Belzoni.
