My father, Albert Bowie Jr was from Jackson in Hinds Co. He lived at 123 Clifton before joining the Marines in Dec 1939. He and my mother, Jessie Mae Tucker were married on Feb 12, 1942 in a twilight ceremony at the home of Rev J. H. Wells. My father had just returned from Iceland and was on leave and then on to San Diego for future Central Pacific duty.
