Brownie Scout Troop - 1944-1945
Contributed by Frances Clark Cronin January 22, 2006

1944-1945

I was a student at Davis Elementary School on Congress Street in Jackson.  During our third & fourth grade we were joined by the daughter of one of the officers of the Royal Netherlands Military Flying School. She was a member of our Brownie Scout Troop etc. The next year the young girl had gone back to the Netherlands as the War was over.?  I wish I could remember her name.?  For us it was a "big" deal having a student from another country.  The above picture is of our Brownie Troop.  We met at First Baptist Church, on President Street.  My mother, Lorean Hill Clark, was our leader.  This picture was taken on the steps of the First Baptist Church.
