Mr. Virginias Dabney Native of Hinds county, and eldest brother of Mrs. Sarah Eggleston and Mrs. Ida Armstrong of this place, died very suddenly of paralysis in New York city on Saturday last.  Mr. Dabney was an author of some reputation, having written “Don Miff,” and other works of fiction.  For a number of years he was on the  editorial staff of the New York Commercial Advertiser, but at the time of his death occupied the responsible place of assistant collector of the port of New York.
