White Burial Rites TodayFuneral services for Sterling K. White, 68, life long resident of Hinds county, who passed away yesterday after a brief illness, will be held Thursday afternoon at 4:30 o’clock from the home of Mr. and Mrs. Hugh B. Gillespie, Sr., Raymond. Interment will follow in the Raymond cemetery.
Mr. White was the son of Capt. B.S. White, confederate veteran of the Sixth Texas Cavalry. His mother was the former Miss Annie May Pittman, of Raymond. Since he was 13 years old he had been employed by the Illinois Central railroad, and at the time of
his death he was a conductor on the Y. and M.V. system, running from Jackson to Natchez.Besides his widow, Mrs. Ola Stevens White, he is survived by three daughters, Miss Ola White, Miss Margaret White, both of Natchez: and Mrs. Hugh B. Gillespie, Sr., Raymond. Two grandchildren, Hugh B. Gillespie, Jr., of Raymond; Mrs. Hermon Adams, of Utica; a great-grandson, Hugh B. Gillespie, III, Raymond; two nephews, William L. White and
John Thomas White, and a niece, Mrs. Amanda White Phipps, of Natchez, also survive.Additional Comments:
Stirling Kirkpatrick White is my G-grandfather. He was born in Belton, Texas Feb. 10, 1870. Died Natchez, Miss. June 1, 1938
Mary A. Willis White, 1st. wife, is my G-grandmother. She was born April 18, 1870,
Died Feby 24, 1905They are both buried in the Raymond Odd Fellow Cemetery.
