Mrs Ora Lee Hill Rites At Pocahontas
   Born June 13 1873  - Died Jan 25 1949
      Jackson Daily News  Jan 26 1949
 

Mrs Ora Lee Hill age 75 died Tuesday morning at a local
hospital following a lengthy illness.

She was born near Tinnin and had lived in the Flora and Pocahontas
communities all her life until two years ago when she came to Jackson to
make her home with her children.  She was preceded in death by her husband the late John A. Hill who passed away on February 28 1930.

Mrs. Hill was a devout member of the  Franklin Baptist church near Flora.  She was a devoted mother and will be greatly missed  by a large family of children and grandchildren who survive her.

Five sons one stepson and four daughters survive: George and Asa Hill of Flora;  Carl and Haman Hill of jackson Ben Hill of Vicksburg; and Elmer Hill of Sante Fe New Mexico Mrs Sam Clark Mrs Ira More and Mrs W.P. Maxwell all of Jackson and Mrs Bob Bennington of Bessemer Alabama; one brother Hooker Hartley of Delhi La.  Twelve grandchildren and eight great grandchildren also survive.

Funeral services will be conducted from the Pocahontas Baptist Church with the Rev O.S. Beverly assisted by the Rev. E. E. Edleman officiating.

Interment will be in pocahontas cemetery with Wright and Ferguson in charge.

Active pallbearers will be: Claude Price Talmadge Purvis Howard Peden
Coleman Price Paul Kelsy and J.B. Sumrall.
Honorary pallbearers will be: C.F. Dukes, Albert Williams, John Tanner,
Dr. E.A. Sigrest Joe Lane and Martin Dukes.
