Howard E. Senseman, 90, died Tuesday, September 4, 2006 at the Veteran s Administration Medial Center in Tuscaloosa, AL. Funeral services are 2 p.m. Wednesday in the chapel of Wright & Ferguson Funeral Home High Street chapel with burial following in Morton Cemetery. Visitation is 11:30 am Wednesday at the funeral home.
Mr. Senseman was born on March 18, 1916, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, the son of the late Charles Blair Senseman and Gertrude Evans Senseman. In 1937, he moved to Jackson. A World War II veteran, Mr. Senseman served in the United States Marine Corps at Bougainville, Guam and Iwo Jima, where he received a Purple Heart due to injuries sustained in combat. After World War II, he returned to Jackson and began working for the Railway Express. In 1952, he moved to Edwards where he was the co-owner with his wife Rubye in the 5c&10c store for 30 years. Mr. Senseman was a member of Edwards United Methodist Church. He is preceded in death by his wife Rubye Johnson Senseman.
Survivors include: son, John Senseman and his wife Mary Lou of Holland, MA; son, David Senseman and his wife Kathy of Birmingham, AL; grandchildren, Chris, Valerie, Austin, Walker, and Robert Senseman; great grandchild, Caden; brother, Charles Senseman, sister, Stella Garner, sister, Ruth Armstrong all of Nashville, TN and numerous nieces and nephews.
