Obituary of G. W. Phillips

G.W. "William" Phillips, 73, died Sunday, September 3, 2006 at University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson. Visitation is today 5-8 p.m. at Chancellor Funeral Home-Florence. Services are 11 a.m. on Wednesday at the chapel with interment in Garden of Memories in Florence.
Mr. Phillips was a lifelong resident of Jackson. He was a contract hauler for USA and The Clarion Ledger. He was known for his love and devotion to his family, his love for fishing and hunting and working on small engines.
He is survived by his loving wife, Beatrice Peavey Phillips, of Jackson; two daughters, Glenda Phillips and Penny Rayborn both of Jackson; son, Tony Phillips of Jackson; four brothers, Johnny Phillips of Jackson, Gibson Phillips of Richland, Jimmy Phillips of Florence and Steve Phillips of Richland; 4 grandchildren; Jonathan Rayborn, Codie Rayborn and Cheyanne Rayborn, and Justin Peavey all of Jackson, two great-grandchildren: Holiday Peavey and Shannon Peavey and numerous nieces and nephews.
