Database contains the names of antebellum slaveowners or their agents during the 1850 and 1860 Federal census. Each entry is taken from the agricultural schedules and lists the number of cotton bales produced on these cotton farms and the birthplaces of the owner or overseer on the 1850 lising. Smaller farms that produced less than a dozen bales are not included.
