 SELMAN / SALMON FAMILY CEMETERY
Recorded and contributed by Mary Collins Landin  7-06-05

Located: When recorded in 1979, this cemetery was in woods behind the Guy Vaughan home off Vaughan-Wilhoite Lane, which leads off Mississippi Hwy 18 between Fairchild Crossing and Raymond, MS (S1T4NR3W).   Recorded:  By Mary Collins Landin, on 18 Mar 1979
First Grave:  1844

Remarks:   In 2005, Guy Vaughan is deceased, and the name of the road has been changed to Dennis Road.  The cemetery is totally abandoned and in complete disrepair.  There is only one intact stone remaining, and there are several unmarked graves.  The name Selman may have become Salmon in later generations, since both names occur here.  The Dennis and Salmon families intermarried and had neighboring farms.
